Salmon “Natane-Yaki”: A Taste of Japanese Spring
~Nutritional value exceeding spinach! A healthy, low-carb spring delicacy~
Brighten up your table with Sake no Natane-Yaki, a vibrant dish inspired by the golden “Nanohana” (rape blossoms) that blanket Japan in February. By mixing slightly bitter spring greens with creamy mayonnaise and fluffy eggs, we create a topping that mimics the beautiful yellow flowers of spring.
Why You’ll Love This
- Seasonal Nutrition: Nanohana is a powerhouse of Vitamin C, Iron, and Calcium.
- Perfect for Keto/Low-Carb: At only 2.1g of carbs per serving, this is an ideal high-protein, healthy-fat meal.
- The “Silver” Standard: We use Silver (Coho) Salmon for its naturally juicy, fatty texture that stays moist in the oven.
Nutritional Face-Off: Rape Blossoms vs. Spinach
While spinach is world-famous as a healthy green, Rape Blossoms (Nanohana) actually outperform it in almost every major nutritional category. Most notably, their Vitamin C content is even higher than lemons, and their Calcium and Protein levels make them a secret weapon for a plant-based nutritional boost.
Pairing them with Salmon (as in our Natane-yaki recipe) creates a powerhouse meal rich in Vitamin D, Omega-3s, and essential minerals!
