Crispy Triangle Spring Rolls with Chicken, Shiso & Melty Cheese | Perfect Party Snack

🍗 Crispy Chicken & Shiso “Triangle” Spring Rolls

The ultimate snack for every occasion!

Are you looking for the perfect bite? These aren’t your average spring rolls. We’ve packed tender chicken breast (sasami), fragrant shiso leaves, and gooey cheese into a cute, crispy triangle.

✨ Why You’ll Love Them:

  • Zero Seasoning Needed: Between the savory cheese and the punchy herb aroma of the shiso, the flavor is already built-in!
  • The “Crunch” Factor: Fried to a perfect golden brown for that satisfying snap.
  • Totally Versatile: * 🍺 The best companion for a cold beer.
    • 🎉 A “chic” finger food for your next party.
    • 🍱 The perfect size for an empty spot in your lunch box.

🛒 Ingredients (Per 1 Spring Roll Wrapper)

Multiply the amounts based on how many you want to make!

IngredientAmountNotes
Spring Roll Wrapper1 sheetCut into 3 equal vertical strips
Chicken Tenders (Sasami)20gBoiled and shredded (tendons removed)
Cheese Slices3/4 sliceCut diagonally into 4 small triangles
Shiso (Perilla) Leaves1.5 leavesStems removed, sliced in half lengthwise

🔪 Prep Work

  1. The Chicken: Remove the tendons and boil the chicken. Once cooled, shred it into chunky pieces to maintain a good texture.
  2. The Cheese: Slice your cheese diagonally to create 4 small triangles.
  3. The Wrapper: Cut each spring roll wrapper into three equal strips.

👩‍🍳 The “No-Fail” Folding Technique

By layering the shiso later in the folding process, the vibrant green color shows through the crispy skin beautifully!

  1. Build the Base: Place a cheese triangle at the very end of the wrapper strip, aligning the corners.
  2. Add the Filling: Carefully place about a spoonful of shredded chicken on top of the cheese.
  3. Position the Shiso: Place the shiso leaf a small distance further up the strip.
  4. The First Fold: Fold the wrapper over the cheese and chicken into a triangle shape.
  5. Finish & Seal: Continue folding the triangle over and over down the length of the strip. At the very end, apply a small amount of cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) to seal it tight!

💡 Pro Tip:

Since the chicken is already boiled, the frying process only needs to focus on getting the skin golden-brown and the cheese melted. This ensures the skin is “shatter-crisp” while the meat stays juicy and never overcooks!

Enjoy your crispy, cheesy, and aromatic treats! 🧀🌿
