Butaniku no oba fry(豚肉の大葉フライ)

What kind of dish is Butaniku no oba fry⁇

It is a dish made by rolling oba and cheese inside thinly sliced pork and then frying it.

The three major Western food menus in Japan are said to be tonkatsu, curry rice, and croquettes.

Tonkatsu is said to be a Japanese chef’s adaptation of a pork cutlet.
This menu is so popular that if you ask people what their favorite dish is, it will always be at the top of the list.

Tonkatsu is usually made with thickly sliced pork loin, but this recipe uses thinly sliced pork.

You’ll definitely be captivated by the flavorful pork, rich cheese, and refreshing aroma.

Miso cutlet is also a recommended arrangement. See this article for the recipe. 👉 Miso Katsu (Pork cutlet)

There are frequent accidents where the cheese melts and flows out during frying. But, using oba prevents this accident.

Oba can also be used as an accent to dishes, so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Use solid cheese as sliced cheese melts easily.
Freezing cheese for about an hour is also an effective way to avoid mistakes.

What kind of food is oba??

It is a type of flavored vegetable, and is sometimes described as Japanese basil.

Oba is also called “shiso”. There are red and green types of shiso, and only the green type is called oba.

Although it is not used as the main ingredient, its refreshing aroma adds an accent to the dish.

It has been a staple garnish for sashimi since ancient times, as it is said to have preservative properties.
