What kind of dish is Singapore Chicken Rice Sweet Chili Sauce

Singapore chicken rice (海南鶏飯:Hainanese chicken) is a popular street food dish in Hainan and Guangdong provinces in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.

This dish is served with boiled chicken flavored with fish sauce on top of rice. When cooking rice, the soup made from boiled chicken is used.

The flavors of fish sauce and chicken permeate the rice, resulting in delicious rice. It’s a shame that it’s hard to convey the deliciousness from its plain appearance.

In some countries, the rice is fried in chicken fat before cooking. Chicken is sometimes prepared by roasting or frying, and each region has its own unique taste and way of eating it.

Singapore chicken rice is served with sauces made from sweet chili sauce or soy sauce. Also, using jasmine rice makes it taste closer to the real thing.

In Japan, it is often confused with Thai Khao Man Gai, but in Thailand, it is often made with a sauce made from a seasoning called Tao Chio, which is similar to miso.

(Incidentally, Japanese chicken rice is made by frying rice and chicken in butter and seasoning it with ketchup.) 👉 Easy to make omurice recipe (Omelet and ketchup rice)
