Beef tacos(ビーフタコス)
Tacos are Mexico’s national dish, consisting of tortillas topped with meat, vegetables, sauce, and other toppings.
In Japan, there is a dish called taco rice, which is an adaptation of the taco introduced by the American military, so tacos are generally understood to be minced meat, lettuce, tomato, and cheese sandwiched between tortillas.
However, this taco is a taco that was popular in America and is different from the one in Mexico.
In Mexico, the word taco is not the name of a dish, but seems to mean a snack. There are endless combinations of ingredients and styles.
Tortilla is an ingredient similar to rice in Japan.
Two common types are corn tortillas and flour tortillas. The difference between burritos, which tend to be mixed together, is that tacos use corn tortillas, while burritos use flour tortillas.

Type of tacos

Carne asada
Carne asada means “grilled meat”. Beef is marinated in a sauce made with citrus fruits, garlic, coriander, and spices, then grilled and eaten on a tortilla.
Carnitas
Carnitas means “small meat”. After the meat is stewed until tender, it is finely chopped and wrapped in tortillas along with onions and coriander.
Al Pastor
Pork marinated with spices is cooked in trompo and eaten with pineapple and onions. This is a style of taco that was influenced by the food culture of Lebanese immigrants.
Pescado
It is commonly eaten with fried or grilled white fish topped with pico de gallo, sour cream, etc. Shrimp may be used instead of white fish, or it may be topped with cabbage and citrus mayonnaise sauce.

Salsa means sauce.
salsa roja サルサロハ
Meaning “red sauce”. A classic sauce made using tomatoes, chili peppers, coriander, etc.
salsa verde サルサベルデ
Meaning “green sauce”. A sauce made with tomatillos (edible physalis), jalapenos, onions, garlic, and cilantro.
salsa cruda サルサクルーダ
This salsa is also famous in Japan. Chopped raw tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and cilantro mixed with lime and salt. Pico de Gallo is also almost synonymous.
salsa ranchera サルサランチェラ
Salsa made with roasted tomatoes, onions, garlic, and jalapenos.

Jalapenos are hard to come by in Japan, so I use chili powder.
Beef tacos COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
① Finely chop the onions.
② Cut the tomatoes into cubes.
③ Chop the coriander.
④ Mix onions, tomatoes, coriander, grated garlic, salt, chili powder, lime juice, and pepper.
⑤ Grill the beef and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
⑥ Place beef and salsa on tortillas.
Warming the tortillas before eating allows you to enjoy the fragrant aroma of corn. Warm it in a frying pan for about 30 seconds or bake it in the toaster oven for 1 minute.
