Curry Doria Using Homemade White Sauce (Rice Gratin) COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put the butter in a frying pan and let it melt completely over low heat.
  2. Sift in the wheat flour. Be sure to sift it.
  3. Once the flour and butter have fused together and become creamy, turn up the heat a little.
  4. When small bubbles appear, turn off the heat.
  5. Add milk little by little. Don’t panic if lumps suddenly appear. Mix with the milk while breaking up any lumps with a spatula.
  6. Once there are no lumps and the sauce is smooth, add all the milk and add the consommé.
  7. Simmer over medium heat until the sauce thickens. Be careful not to set the heat too high as it will burn easily. If it’s too thick, add a little milk.
  8. Place the white sauce and instant curry on top of the rice. (The white sauce and instant curry should be heated in the microwave and used while still hot.)
  9. Make a small indentation in the center and place the egg in the indentation.
  10. Sprinkle cheese on top of it.
  11. Place the doria on a baking tray and place the tray on the top shelf of the oven.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes using the grill function. (If using regular oven mode, preheat to 240°C and bake for 10 minutes.)
