What kind of dish is Rolled Cabbage??
“Rolled cabbage” is a dish made by wrapping ground meat mixed with chopped onions and carrots and cooking it.
Similar dishes exist all over the world, with many variations in seasonings and ingredients.
The most popular flavors in Japan are consommé or ketchup. Depending on the season, Chinese cabbage may be substituted for the cabbage.Use your favorite ground meat, whether it’s beef or pork.
Some people boil the cabbage before wrapping it around the meat, but I use the microwave. If you’re worried about it losing its shape, you can seal the end of the roll with a toothpick.

- Ground pork (200g)
- Cabbage leaves (60g ×8 leaves)
- Onion (70g)
- Breadcrumbs (25g)
- Milk (70g)
- Eggs
- Salt (2.5g)
- Pepper (to taste)
- ★Consommé granules(3g)
- ★Water (250g)
- ★Soy sauce (5g)

- Make an incision in the bottom of the cabbage.
- Pinch the core and lift it up to remove the leaves.
- Finely chop the onion.
- Soak the breadcrumbs in milk.
- Mix the ground pork, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper well.
- If the dough is too soft, chill it in the refrigerator.
- Place the cabbage on a plate, loosely cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for 2 minutes.
- Slice off the hard, thick part of the cabbage near the bottom with a knife.
- Wipe off the water from the cabbage with paper towels.
- Place the dough on top of the cabbage, making sure that the hard part near the bottom of the cabbage is facing you.
- Roll it from the front. If you roll it too loosely, the contents will leak out, so roll it tightly.
- Place the cabbage rolls on a heat-resistant plate.(You can also boil it in a pot.)
- If there are any gaps, stuff them with boiled potatoes and carrots to keep them from moving while cooking.
- Mix the consommé, water, and soy sauce and pour over the mixture.
- Pour in the seasoning, cover loosely with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 20 minutes.
