Bibimbap(ビビンバ)

What kind of dish is bibimbap??

”Bibimbap” is a typical Korean rice dish that is colorfully topped with Namul (vegetables seasoned with sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, etc.).
In Korean, “bibim” means “mixed” and “bap” means “rice.”

The standard ingredients for namul are soybean sprouts, spinach, carrots, and zenmai. The meat used is ground beef or beef belly.

Gochujang is essential for seasoning. Kimchi, eggs, and seaweed are popular toppings.

There are recipes that add things like avocado, mushrooms, seafood, and yukhoe, so it’s a menu that can be easily modified.

It seems that eggs were originally not included in the toppings, but in recent years fried eggs have become mainstream. Using a soft-boiled egg as a topping can be considered a Japanese-style arrangement.

Gochujang is a spicy and sweet miso that originated on the Korean Peninsula. It is a fermented seasoning made by saccharifying rice or glutinous rice with koji, adding chili pepper, and aging it.

INGREDIENTS(2SERVINNGS)

  • steamed rice 360g
  • beef shoulder loin 120g
    • ☆soy sauce 10g
    • ☆sugar 4g
    • ☆gochujang 5g
    • ☆sake 10g
    • ☆grated garlic 3g
    • ☆grated ginger 3g
  • carrot 100g
  • bean sprouts 200g
  • spinach 150g
    • ★sesame oil 15g
    • ★chicken broth granules 7g
    • ★grated garlic 1g
  • egg
  • kimchi 40g
  • roasted sesame seeds 5g
  • thread chili pepper 0.5g

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

① Mix soy sauce, sugar, gochujang, sake, grated garlic, and grated ginger.

② Marinate the beef shoulder loin in the sauce for 15 minutes to 1 hour.

③ Cut the carrots into strips.

④ Cut the spinach into 5cm wide pieces.

⑤ Boil the carrots, bean sprouts, and spinach for 2 minutes, then drain them in a colander. Once cool, squeeze out the water.

⑥ Mix carrots, bean sprouts, spinach, sesame oil, chicken broth granules, and grated garlic and wait 15 minutes.

⑦Take the eggs out of the refrigerator and boil them for 8 minutes in boiling water.

(If you want hard-boiled eggs instead of soft-boiled eggs, boil them for 12 minutes. )

⑧ Fry the meat in a frying pan.

⑨ Arrange the meat, namul, eggs, kimchi,roasted sesame seeds and thread chili pepper on the rice.
